The details of all the events are published to members in our bi-monthly newsletter, listed online in our Members Area, and posted to the e-mail loop. Scheduled activities come in several flavors: • Moms & Kids • Moms Only • Couples • Families Some of the activities on our calendar include: • Park days • Library storytimes • Craft sessions • Tours & field trips • Moms Night Out • Special members-only sessions at places like Gymboree or Tumbling Tykes We also have two seasonal events for the whole family: • Summer Picnic • Holiday Party Special Interest Groups: The best friendships are born of common interests. Get together with other moms and do something fun, relaxing, or interesting! Here are a few of the groups our members have developed: •Book Club •Bunco/Game Night •Cooking Club •Craft Club •Gardening Club •Home-Based Business •Movie Club •My Two Jobs •Playgroups (see below) •Running/Walking Club •Seasoned Moms •Secret Pals •Wine Club •Moms of Today (email loop) •Moms Drop Pounds (email loop) Playgroups: Joining a playgroup can be rewarding for both moms and their children — moms experience wonderful friendships and guidance with parenthood, and kids experience learning in the form of play. Generally, playgroups meet weekly, or every other week depending on schedules, at members' homes, parks, the zoo, etc. Between 3-7 moms make up each playgroup. The age range for the children is birth through 5 years. Chapter-wide playgroups are also offered from time to time. All members and their kids are welcome to come and enjoy games, storytime, crafts, etc. Another option is our Nursing Home Playgroup which meets at a local nursing home to play & interact with the residents. This is a great way for your children to meet older people and the residents really love it.
